Why this rock is probably not a meteorite:
This is a piece of metal that someone found in a field near a railroad
track. If you find an interesting rock near a railroad track, it probably
fell off a train, not from the sky.

What is it?
Probably some industrial by-product - a piece of metal-rich slag.
Our analysis showed it to be mostly iron, with some silicon but no
(<1%) nickel. Metal in meteorites has 5-30% nickel.
