Why this rock is probably not a meteorite:
This is a 10-lb rock that someone sent me. There's no fusion
crust and the surface is very rough. Ther's nothing about it that
suggests it's a meteorite.

What is it?
We're not sure. The rock gave a gray streak,
but it's not at all magnetic, so it can't
be magnetite. We think its a manganese oxide nodule. It was found
in Arkansas.
