Why this rock
is probably not a meteorite:
This photo was sent by the superintendent of a construction
crew who found it while building a road "in the middle of nowhere"
in the Atacama desert of Chile. This desert should be a fine place
to find meteorites, but not many have been found there.
The shape is ~OK, but again, the holes
are
a problem.

What is it?
Well, darn, it looks like another hematite concretion. I
urged the finder to pursue this one, nevertheless.
