Why this rock is
probably not a meteorite:
That's a magnet stuck to the rock. The finder said that sewing
needles stick to it, too.
It's smooth, but it does not have regmaglypts. If it were mine,
I'd saw it in two.

What is it?
A meteorite will attract a magnet because it contains iron metal,
but it is not naturally so magnetic that it will attract pins. This
is probably a nice piece of magnetite.
